Honeymoon on the Alps
We just back from the Swiss Alps honeymoon, 3 weeks of sweet time memories, for us to learn to live together, to know each other more deeply, to let God to lead our direction. it's funny that we feel almost like an old couple, lots of resting and relax. so calm to live around the beautiful nature, Grass, Flowers, Trees, Cows, Sunshine and Rain, Wind and Storm, hiking, cooking, playing games, searching Mermeltiers (a special kind of mouse), collecting flowers, being artistic and poetic...
From now on we'll be 2 weeks in St. Gallen, i'll concentrate on making art while Rahel will work in the hospital. There's a Theatre festival in Czech we'll attend, to help and perform. also, Berlin, Ireland & Austria... we finally decide to head back to HK in Oct, stay there half a year before my sister's wedding, that'll be the time for us to try out to live together in my home town, for Rahel to know more the culture of people and lifestyle, for us to spend some time with my parents. And back to Switzerland again in May 2009. Even everything is uncertain, we really look forward to our future and feel so thankful for what we have, all the help from our great friends and family at the wedding. Danke schön Jesus, you're truly awesome.

假如活得伍晃榮一點 Live with NgFongWing Attitude
People in Hong kong always said, Andy Lau 劉華 attitude will bring you success! I really appreciate what he's been doing, unbreakable strength and hard working style. But in my opinion, it might not work on every Hong Konger, you'll never be happy while keep working endlessly, right? so, we should live with a more NgFongWing 伍晃榮 attitude instead :)
Through my shallow oberservation, there's 10 characteristics of Ng Fong Wing i rarely found in HK (especially stars, politicians, government people, middle class and boss), which really touch me:
1 - Allowing Flexibility 容許靈活性
2 - Freedom of Improvisation 即興創作
3 - Inner Sense of Humor 內在幽默感
4 - Respectable Guts 夠薑的體面
5 - Try to innovate/be different 試圖破格
6 - Makes u feel Relax from Stress mood 使你緊張情緒放鬆
7 - Wit/Smart + Good Heart 好心腸的機智
8 - Outstanding but Comfortable 出位但不煩厭
9 - Natural Human Face Expression 似翻個人的面容表達
10 - Just wanna make someone Happy 沒有機心地使人愉快
Perhaps that's why we feel such a pity of losing him, how precious it is to see him lights up the TV News in those years, I hope youtube is not the only memory for us. but yes, it helps. As i couln't find much of his photos, here's my tribute illustration for this wonderful Sport News Reporter. R.I.P.

After the Trip, so Thankful!
This whole backpack trip 21 days altogether, we spend less than HK$ 8000 per person, include a return flight ticket (HK-Bangkok), accommodation, food, transport, it's great that we didn't buy any souvenir, no Lonely Planet, never did any booking or reservation! (even this Xmas high season)
I know some people still can't believe how we made it, but all i wanna say is a big "Thank You" to Jesus, when we pray and look forward to the next step, you always arrange us the best way, you stand by us, you let us learn by not choosing an easier way, to accept the difference between two cultural backgrounds, to learn the patience, the trust and passion of life. To stretch our mind, to think about the living basic, what are we working for? what's the value of money? is that our dream to have a stable and secure future? how happy we are when we got whole lotta money? what's enough? what's more than enough?? We're so thankful for this meditating journey.

Day 21 Fall in Love Again
Go Chatuchak Market again, When Rahel walk around, i really have a good time chatting with Thai artist Ty, he's too kind, gave me sketchbook, book, biscuit. Meet Noo for a farewell lunch, we gave her sleepingbag and blanket for thanks. Taxi to airport. Right, we start to love Bangkok again.

Day 20 NewSong
The first time we try to take the local bus to Khao San, it's so convenient and comfortable! as long as we ask the right people to know the bus number. I think it's a stupid thing to take Underground or Taxi. Found a better place called Wild Orchid Villa, nice bathroom and bed. Chatuchak Market at Phahonyothin Road is cool, big and crowd.
The best thing is, i got a reply from Noah about a church called NewSong, we join the service and really dig the music Whim playing, a kind of rhythmic acousitc like Dave Matthews, Ben Harper, they play a Lennon version Stand By Me (Ben E. King), Pastor Peter talk about the story of Joshua & the Israelites crossing the Jordan, which is truly inspiring. We get to Whim's blues band live at Saxophone Pub, wow, i never know any Christian playing such a wonderful blues.

Day 19 Fully Booked
Laos border will show you how slow you can leave the country, luckily Rahel ask for a shortcut, coz we rush for the last train from Nongkai to Bangkok. There's no more seat for the train, all full!!! so we take the cheapest - standing tickets. Another Miracle, we got place to sit and Rahel even sleep under the seat, 12 hours isn't that long.

Day 17 River Tubing
Pass by a Volunteer Farm School and met Jason. Good Sunny day for Tubing (sailing with a wheel shape buoy) on the river, so many pub along, people can stop and drink. Whole body exhausted, so we need Pancakes, Grilled Fish and Real Curry Chicken with Rice.

Day 16 Free Running!
When Rahel go to take some photos by the river, I play Soccer with those kids on the grass, after a while, they ask for money, so i told them i'm poor, I try my best to speak with them, then i start with the running game, screaming "1-2-3..." and run altogether on the ground freely. walk through the farm, lay down on the hay, so great. 2 little cats follow us to the room, they're ultra cute & sweet, wanna come in, they wait outside our room on the chair Meow Meow. oh...

Day 15 Bungalows
6:30am, 6 hours bus to Vang Viang, Rahel get the nicest place of the whole trip: Riverside Bungalow! There's Runya & Tomas having a holiday too. Visit some friendly young Monks and they speak all the English they knew. After a dinner by the Namsong River, no count down, we enjoy the time to stay in bed for the New Years Day.

Day 14 Waterfalls
A day trip with Tuk Tuk driver Thong Vanh, we visit a little village with lots of children selling stuff, really sad coz they can only speak a bit English to persuade you to buy something, u can see the locals really try to use children to make money. so we quickly go to Kuang Si Waterfall. pass by a carnival, looks like some local festival to celebrate new years, so we join and drink Beerlaos.

Day 13 Laughly Beer
Breakfast with Julien & Melanie at Scandinavian Bakery. Learn some Laos language in a Handicraft shop. See the sunset by the river pier, got our delicious Rahel handmade sandwich. Sit outside a pub, we get a little drunk and draw each other, Rahel laugh really loud and some kids next door come and having fun with us. we use all the hand gesture to show them what we mean, i always ask them "What's your name?" in Laos [Chow Siu Yeung] i made a portrait of that two sisters and give it to them, then they made loads of drawing, include a Mickey and Minnie mouse represent us. (with smile)

Day 12 Laosssss
8 hours slowboat to Luang Prabang, found Khonsavanh Guesthouse with the help from a French Julien, he loves to travel with his bike, a musician too. Try a local Laos soup noodle, a place without tourists, fresh fruit too.

Day 11 Slowboat
Arr. the Laos border, Rahel sleep for 2 hours, get the Visa and try the 6 hours slowboat, amazing to meet so many nice people there, Violinist Fred playing all along the trip, his girlfd Di, Adi & Bili from Israel, Jess, Amina & Sara, Ben, "Edward Norton" Andrea & Katie, Jennifer... it's a boat of talents.

Day 10 Vomitized
Lunch at Mama Falafel, love their sofa sooooo much, give a secret present Diary to farewell Peter! We're on the way to Mekong River by fast mini bus in the night, half an hour nonstop curves+turns make you dizzily vomitized. Rahel (on right) and the other girl (on left) both puke, i help her to throw the smelly bag out of window, oh i think i hit a restaurant... sorry.

Day 9 Ride the Elephant
Pack some lunch, rent a motorbike and start an Elephant tour which Rahel really look forward to it. We don't use the seat, so his hair can really goes inside your skin, weird feeling, in the beginning, the guide walks slowly with us, then we go into the river and suddenly we play with the Elephant!!! Put down the camera and let's get wet!
